Once the domain is registered
All Hong Kongese domain names registered with us are stored on our international server. Domains registered with us are automatically provided with their own under-construction page - this notifies potential registrants that the name has been acquired and is now registered. The under-construction page is offered free of charge and may be used indefinitely.
It is possible for Web and/or Mail forwarding to be provided for Hong Kongese domains.

Background
Hong Kong had the domain extension ".hk", and registrations take place directly under .hk and also under sub-domains of .hk.If you are based outside of Hong Kong you can register directly under the second level .hk. You do not need a local presence in Hong Kong to do this.
If you are registered as a business in Hong Kong, you can register under the third level .com.hk, but you must provide a copy of a "Business Registration Certificate" from the Inland Revenue Department of the HKSAR Government, or a "Certificate of Registration of Overseas Company" from the Companies Registry of the HKSAR Government.

.org.hk is reserved for registered or approved not-for-profit organisations in HKSAR, you need to provide documentary proof of this.
.net.hk is reserved for entities managing network infrastructure, machines and services with a licence from the Office of Telecommunications Authority of the HKSAR Government.
.idv.hk is designated for Individuals aged 11 or above with HKID card.
Should any legal proceedings begin in relation to the domain name, or you receive any notification of any claim, action or demand relating to the name, you must inform the .hk registry straight away, in writing.
There are several words which can not be used in a domain name, these are as follows:
- government
- bank
- insurance
- assurance
- 1 character words
- generic top-level domains
- full names or abbreviations of all local regions or districts in Hong Kong
- 2-character country codes as defined in ISO 3166
- popular surnames or family names.
From its inception in 1990 until 2002, the domain was administered by the Joint University Computer Centre.In 2002, through a "Memorandum of Understanding" with the Government of the HKSAR, HKIRC took over the administration of '.hk', while the Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Corporation Limited (HKDNR), its wholly-owned subsidiary of HKIRC, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the registration service.
'.hk' domain names can be registered at both the second and third level. The easy-to-remember Generic '.hk' domain names (e.g.www.myname.hk) and Specific third-level domain names for various community sectors.
Both English and Chinese characters are allowed. The following are the categories of third-level domains available.
